Ten practical tools, including a psychosocial risk register (online and in Excel), a conversation planner, a printable crisis response card and two capstone plan templates, plus a Word and PDF workbook for every module.

Built on Australian sources

Checked against sources such as Safe Work Australia, the model WHS Regulations and Code of Practice, the ABS and Comcare, with clear notes where the rules differ between states and territories.

About the course

Running a business is hard on your own mental health, and the way work is designed affects everyone who works with you. Work health and safety laws require businesses to manage psychosocial risks, the parts of work that can cause psychological harm, so far as is reasonably practicable. This course takes you through what that means in practice, in the order you will need it: why it matters, your own wellbeing and burnout, hazards and your legal duty, designing work, supportive conversations, responding to distress and crisis, return to work, financial pressure, bullying and harassment, and your two capstone plans. Every module ends with a knowledge check and an assessed task with a model answer. Allow about 19.5 hours over several weeks. This course is education, not therapy, diagnosis or treatment, and it is general information, not legal advice. Monthly live Q&A with Annie

Your enrolment includes a live online Q&A with me once a month. Bring your questions, test your thinking on a real situation and hear how other learners are applying the course. When: every third Tuesday of the month, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sydney time. How to attend: after you enrol, you will find the registration link in the course and in your welcome email. Register once and Zoom emails you a personal join link and calendar invitation for every session. Attending is optional. The sessions are general education, not advice for your circumstances, so please do not share health details about yourself or anyone else.

Annie Gibbins

Annie Gibbins is the founder of Nexus Leadership and a five-time CEO. She began her career as a psychiatric nurse and has since built and led organisations through start-up, growth and change. She is currently CEO of the Australian Traditional-Medicine Society and has previously led Glaucoma Australia, the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine and the Australian Institute of Ultrasound, and she co-founded the Australasian College of Optical Dispensing. Annie is a bestselling author, holds a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Health Science, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and won a 2023 Grand Stevie Award for Women in Business.
