Annie Gibbins

I'm was registered nurse who became a CEO — so I've sat in your chair. Over more than fifteen years I've led five of the professional associations health practitioners belong to, won a Grand Stevie Award as a business leader, written 17 books, and earned a Bachelor of Health Science, a Master of Education and my graduate diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. What I learned along the way is that clinical brilliance and business leadership are two different skills — and almost no one teaches a practitioner the second one. The hardest stage isn't opening or growing; it's the moment your practice depends entirely on you and more growth just means more hours.
