Last updated: 11 October 2026
1. Who we are
Nexus Learning Academy is operated by Lipstick Consulting Pty Ltd (ABN 15 619 120 482), trading as Nexus Leadership ("we", "us"). We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Contact us at [email protected] or PO Box 390, Seaforth NSW 2092, Australia.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password, and any optional sign-up details you choose to give, such as your country, position or website.
- Sign-in through other services: if you sign in with Google, Facebook, LinkedIn or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that service.
- Purchase details: what you bought, when and for how much, and billing details needed for the transaction. Card payments are handled by Stripe or PayPal; we do not see or store full card numbers.
- Learning records: your course progress, quiz responses, assignment uploads, discussion posts, certificates and feedback you give us.
- Communications: emails and messages you send us.
- Website use: we use Google Analytics, which uses cookies, to understand how people use the academy. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
We do not ask for health information, and our courses ask you not to upload client, patient, member or other confidential information.
3. How we use it
- To create your account, give you access to what you bought and issue certificates.
- To process payments, refunds and receipts.
- To assess assignments and give feedback, and to answer your questions.
- To send course emails, such as welcome, progress and completion messages.
- To improve our courses, using de-identified information wherever possible.
- To send news and offers, but only if you have agreed. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the academy, and only as needed:
- Thinkific Labs Inc. (Canada), which hosts the academy, and its hosting providers;
- Stripe and PayPal, which process payments;
- Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., United States), which sends our marketing emails if you have subscribed;
- Google (United States), which provides website analytics; and
- people who work for Nexus Leadership, such as assessors, under confidentiality obligations.
We may also disclose information where the law requires or authorises it.
5. Information held overseas
Because these providers are based overseas, your information is likely to be stored or processed outside Australia, including in Canada and the United States. We choose established providers and take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information.
6. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep learning records while your account is active so you can return to your courses and certificates, and we keep purchase records for as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to close your account and delete your information, unless we must keep it by law.
7. Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. If you have a privacy complaint, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page.
